A case of Herpes Simplex Encephalitis

Abstract

|
We experienced a case of Herpes Simplex Encephalitis in a 3 year-old boy.
The diagnosis was made by clinical symptoms, CSF study, serologic test, EEG and brain CT. Herpes simplex virus specific antibody was detected from serum and cerebrospinal fluid on 36th hospital day. Patient was treated with acyclocvir and improved in association with neurological sequallae.
Brief review of literatures was made.
